One of SP’s long term local missions partners, St Barnabas, will host an important fundraising event, Flag Day, on 15 March Saturday in Hong Kong Island.
In the past, Flag Day has raised as much as 20% of its annual income, this reflects how precious this opportunity is for St. Barnabas, and hundreds of volunteers are needed!
Flag Day is an official charity event approved by HK govt to allow different NGOs to seek donations from the general public on a Saturday morning. There are only 52 Saturdays in a year, but thousands of NGOs, so one can imagine, how intense the competition it is to get a slot for flag day. The fund is essential for meeting the operational needs and their missions – serving homeless people, elderlies and people suffering in underprivileged conditions.
We are recruiting you SPers to volunteer to give out flags and seek donations to support St. Barnabas on 15 March morning! Christians, non Christians, friends and families, HC are all welcome. No GIC is required. It’s a great opportunity for you to sacrifice a Saturday morning to serve and be a blessing to our elderly and homeless neighbours.
